Summary: Empirica is looking to add an experienced financial algorithmic developer to its growing team. Algorithmic Software Engineers (AE) are expected to constantly engage with Algorithmic Strategy Developers (ASD) in continuous development of trade life cycle systems. Familiarity with decentralized finance is a plus. At least two (2) years minimum experience in software development; financial industry experience is highly preferred.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Write high-performing well-test code that meets coding standards and business requirements
• Ability to review and enhance existing trading infrastructure through software development
• Ability to securely deploy and execute codes necessary for optimization
• Ability to work with APIs and external databases related to algorithmic trading; familiarity with online brokerage software is a plus

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Math or Engineering preferred
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in software development; financial industry experience is prioritized and preferred
• Willingness to work during market hours
• Exposure with dApps, blockchain-related projects, and cryptocurrency trading strategies and mechanisms are big pluses

Skills/Knowledge:

• Excellent collaborative and communication skills are critical
• Ability to understand financial concepts, decentralized finance and blockchain concepts are required
• Demonstrated ability to be resourceful and work effectively as a team player
• Ability and willingness to learn new technologies
• Strong aptitude for software development

Technical Abilities:

• Expert knowledge of programming in Python and SQL
• Experience in MQL4/5 is a big plus
• Experience with trading-related APIs is a big bonus
• Experience in CI/CD is a plus
• Experience in C#/C++
• Experience in AWS technologies are a big plus
